Find That Turkey!

It was Thanksgiving Day.
And family was in town.
The smells of the kitchen
Said come gather round.
There were green beans and bread
Potatoes mashed and sweet
Pies, stuffing and gravy
There was lots to eat.
Except when we looked
No turkey could be found
That turkey could hide
So we must seek all around
We looked around the kitchen
We looked under the sink.
We looked behind the frig
Where is he, do you think?
We looked by the TV
Playing football so loud
We couldn't find turkey
In that big screaming crowd
We checked the dining room.
We looked under the table.
No matter how we tried,
We just were not able.
We checked the fireplace
And under the couch
We looked on the mantle
This bird was no slouch
We looked in closets
We looked down the halls
We looked under rugs
We climbed up the walls
We looked in the bathroom
We looked in the shower
We looked in the toilet
It grew late by the hour
We looked in the basement
We looked behind the tank
We looked inside the boxes
It was hard to say thanks.
We looked in our playroom
We looked in our toys
We looked in the dollhouse
We were getting annoyed.
We looked in the garage
We looked in the cars
We looked in trash cans
It was getting bizarre.
We looked in our beds
We looked under the sheets
We looked in our drawers
This turkey had us beat.
We looked in the attic
We looked in the trunk
We founds lots of spiders
And our hearts just sunk.
We looked in the yard
We looked in the grass
Yes, it would happen
Thanksgiving would pass
We looked by the hammock
We looked in the pool
We looked by the lawn mower
We felt like a fool
We looked in the garden
We looked in the shed
We looked on the swing set
Then we saw his big head!
Hooray, we found him!
We sure did not quit
So we grabbed that ol' turkey and we said…
"Tag, you're it."
