PRAYER
Dear God,
It's funny how you work sometimes. Your ways are totally unexpected,
not always logically, and unbelievable, sometimes, to the point
of hilarity! I know I like to give you the script to follow, a
morning to-do list of things I would like you complete and check
off. My desire is that you work in realistic timetables and in
clear structures. Basically, I want you to be personal assistant.
That's not your way. You prefer the incomprehensible, the stunning,
the jaw-dropping, the "You've got to be kidding me!"
Why is that? You want to make yourself memorable. You want to
surprise us. You want to us to be absolutely sure that it was
not us, but you working in this situation. If that is the case,
I'm ready for a good laugh today.

GENESIS 21:1-7
Reading: God heard the boy crying, and
the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her,
"What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard
the boy crying as he lies there. Lift the boy up and take him
by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation." (Genesis
21:17-18)
Time: Approximately 2000 BC
Characters: Hagar, Ishmael
Place: Desert of Beersheba
What's Happening: God takes care of Hagar and Ishmael.
PRAYER
Dear God,
When I make a mistake, I try to walk away from it. I try to remove
myself from the situation, which sometimes is the best thing.
I need not associate with individuals who remind me of my previous
poor choices, encourage me to sin or mock my faith. Those people
exit my life because of distance, time and new commitments. However,
that doesn't mean you have stopped caring for them. Though I walked
away from them, you remained in their lives. I pray for them now
that you would reach them and teach them. Influence them in a
way that I no longer can. If they are struggling with the things
I once struggled with, deliver them as you delivered me. If they
are lonely and hungry, for food or companionship or love, fill
them with the spiritual sustenance that only you can provide.

"I pray for those that walked away from me
